Overview

The MC3418 provides a CVSD recording and playback path. The 1994 Multimedia Data Standards Update identifies it in the IBM PS/2 Speech Adapter, where it works alongside a separate TI LPC speech synthesizer. CVSD represents changes in audio with a one-bit stream; recording and playback depend on the sampling clock.
